The following Report from the Superintendent of the Hongkong Fire Brigade, is published for general information.

FIRE BRIGADE OFFICE, HONGKONG, 6th September, 1872. SIR,-I have the honor to forward to you to be submitted to His Excellency the Governor, the Report of the Government Fire Brigade, for the Months of July and August.
An Inspection of the Fire Engines, Hose, and Equipment generally, was had on the 19th July; all were found in order.
In consequence of the Fire at the West Point Rice Mills, on the 24th July, the usual Monthly Parade and Inspection was not held.
An Inspection of the Fire Engines, Hose and Equipment, was had on the 19th August; all were found clean and in order.
The Monthly Parade and Inspection was held on the 31st August.
The Assembly was at the Cross Roads at 5 P.M.; thence the Steam Engines proceeded: No. 1 to the Praya near Harbor Master's Office, and No. 2 to Circular Buildings. Sea water was conveyed to a tank, from which No. 2 obtained supply, and two branches of Delivery Hose were led up Hollywood Road to the "Tung-wa" Hospital. The several hand Engines, including three belonging to Chinese Associations, were worked from the "mains" in the vicinity.
