NOTICE CHRISTIAN LOUIS VOLKMANN,
of Hongkong, Tavern-keeper, having been adjudged Bankrupt under a Petition for adjudica- tion of Bankruptcy, filed in the Supreme Court of Hongkong in Bankruptcy, on the Thirty-first day of May, 1872, a Public sitting for the said Bankrupt to pass his last examination, and make application for his discharge, will be held before the Honorable Henry John Ball, Acting Chief Justice of the said Court, at the Supreme Court House, Victoria, Hongkong, on Wednesday, the Tenth day of July, 1872, at Ten o'clock in the forenoon precisely.
At this meeting, proofs of the Debts of the Cre- ditors will be received.

WHEREAS an Action has been commenced
in this Court, at the suit of the above
named John Jack against the above named Wil- liam Francis Brown Sams, William McGregor Smith, and Victor Kresser, as Copartners, car- rying on business under the style or firm of Wahee, Smith and Company, and no appearance has been entered for the said Victor Kresser in the said Action, and he is alleged to be absent from the Colony.
Notice is hereby given that unless the said Victor Kresser or some person on his behalf shall enter an appearance for the said Victor Kresser
to the said Action, on or before the Twenty- fourth day of July, One thousand Eight hun- dred and Seventy-two, the said John Jack will cause such appearance to be entered for him, in pursuance of the Ordinance of this Island "for regulating Process in Action against Persons absent from the Colony," and will proceed in the said Action as if the said Victor Kresser had resided in Hongkong, and had appeared in per-
son.

THEREAS an Action has been commenced in this Court, at the suit of the above named Alexander MacDonald and John Mac- Donald against the above named C. Favre Brandt and J. F. Brandt to recover the sum of Seven thousand Two hundred and Eighty-nine Dol- lars and Eighty-three Cents, for goods sold and delivered to the Defendants by the Plaintiffs and work and labor done by the Plaintiffs for the Defendants, and it being alleged that the said C. Favre Brandt and J. F. Brandt do not reside within this Island or its Dependencies, a Writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued returnable on the Seventeenth day of July next, wherein Robert Jardine, James Whittall, William Kes- wick, Herbert St. Leger Magniac, Edward Whittall, and Francis Bulkeley Johnson, are Garnishees.
Notice is hereby given thereof, and that if at any time before final judgment in this Action, the said C. Favre Brandt and J. F. Brandt or any person on their behalf will give the security and notice and file the appearance or plea required by the Ordinance of this Island entituled “ An Ordinance to provide for and regulate Process in actions at Law against Persons absent from the Colony," the said Attachment may be dissolved. Dated this Twenty-first day of June, 1872.
