No. S. 380. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Lease of Crown Land at the rear of the New Harbour Office Buildings", will be received at this Office until Noon of Monday, the 17th day of January, 1921, for the letting of Crown Land at the rear of the New Harbour Office Buildings for five years from 1st February, 1921, subject to the conditions specified below.

Each tender must be accompanied by a receipt to the effect that the tenderer has deposited in the Colonial Treasury a sum of $500 as a pledge of the bonâ fides of his offer which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown if the tenderer refuse to carry out his tender and comply with the conditions hereinafter contained, should the tender be accepted. *.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.

Forms of tender and further particulars can be obtained from the Director of Public Works.

Conditions relating to the letting of Crown Land at the rear of the New Harbour Office Buildings for a period of five years from 1st February, 1921-

(a.) Lease area about 8,000 sq. feet.

(b.) Upset Crown Rent $750 per month.

(c.) The amount of monthly Crown Rent offered to be stated in tender. (d.) The Crown Rent will be payable monthly in advance on 1st day of each

month.

(e.) Tenders must specify the purposes for which the land is to be used. It can be used for no other purpose than those specified except the consent of the Governor be previously obtained.

(f.) No matsheds or other structures which, in the opinion of the Director of Public Works, are of an inflammable nature will be permitted to be erected on the ground:

(g.) The lessee will be allowed to utilize the area for the erection of buildings for the purpose of holding public performances under Ordinance No. 18 of 1908.

(h.) All structures erected by the lessee to be cleared away before the termina- tion of the lease and the ground to be left in a condition to the satisfac- tion of the Director of Public Works.

(i.) The successful tenderer shall before 1st March, 1921, execute a lease in the usual form of Crown Lease as modified by the foregoing Special Con- ditions.

(7.) The lessee shall deposit a sum of $1,000 with the Colonial Treasurer as security for the due payment of rent and performance of conditions of lease.
