The following Notice to Mariners, received from the Admiralty, is published for general information.

The substance of this Notice, as soon as it is received on board, is to be inserted in red ink on the Charts affected by it; and introduced into the margin, or otherwise in the page, of the Sailing Directions to which it relates. See Instructions, Navigation and Pilotage, p. 172.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

[No. 115.]

MALACCA STRAIT-NORTH-WEST ENTRANCE.

Intended Light on Pulo Brasse.

The Netherlands Government has given Notice, that a light will shortly be exhibited from a lighthouse recently erected on the north point of Pulo Brasse near the north-west end of Sumatra island.

The light will be a revolving white light of the first order, and in clear weather should be visible from a distance of 32 miles.

The tower is of stone, painted white.

Position, lat. 5° 44′ 20′′ N., long. 95° 9′ 10" E.

Further notice will be given of the date of the exhibition of the light.

The following Return, received from Mr. HENRY DICKIE, of the quantity of Spirits distilled at the China Sugar Refinery, is published for general information.
