The following Report from the Superintendent of the Hongkong Fire Brigade is published for general information.

FIRE BRIGADE DEPARTMENT,

HONGKONG, 12th February, 1875.

SIR, I have the honor to forward Report of the Hongkong Fire Brigade for the months of November and December, 1874.

A Parade and Inspection was held on the 13th November. The Steam and Manual Engines were taken to the Praya, and worked from the sea; they were found in good order. The Manual Engines of the Chinese Associations were present.

An Inspection of the Government Engines was made on the 30th November, they were found clean and in order.

An Inspection was also made on the 21st December. The Engines and Equipments were found clean and correct.

A Fire occurred on the 9th December at No. 102, Bonham Strand. A Fire also occurred on the 23rd December at No. 17, Morrison Street; of these Fires due report was made.

On the 23rd December, No. 1 Government Steam Engine which has been under repair at H. M. Naval Yard, was returned to this Department in perfect working order.
