His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Captain FREDERICK WILLIAM LYONS to act as Captain Superintendent of Police, Superintendent of Fire Brigade and Superintendent of Prison, during the absence on leave of the Hon. Mr. FRANCIS JOSEPHI BADELEY, with effect from the 7th instant.

No. 588.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint PHILIP PEVERIL JOHN WODEHOUSE to act as Deputy Superintendent of Police and of Fire Brigade, with effect from the 7th instant.

No. 589.--It is hereby notified that information has been received from the Military Authorities that Field Firing will be carried out daily from Monday, the 9th instant, until Friday, the 13th instant, inclusive, commencing at 7.30 a.m., and finishing at noon, from the South-West slope of Victoria Peak below Mountain Lodge in a Westerly direction towards the East slope of High West.

It is hereby notified that Mr. FERDINAND BORNEMANN, of Hongkong and other places, Merchant, has complied with the requirements of Ordinance 6 of 1898, for the registration in this Colony of his Mark No. 92 of 1907, as applied to Cotton piece goods of all kinds, in Class 24; and that the same has been duly registered.
