PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Sir JOHN POPE HENNESSY, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Onder of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whereas a despatch has been received from the Right Honourable The Earl of KIMBERLEY, Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, conveying to me Her Majesty's Gracious Confirmation and Allowance of the following Ordinance; namely:-
No. 8 of 1879, entitled--An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to consolidate and amend the Laws relating to Merchant Shipping, the duties of the Harbour Master, the control and management of the waters of the Colony, and the regulation of Vessels navigating the same.
Now, therefore, it is hereby Proclaimed, that the said Ordinance has been so confirmed and wed as aforesaid.
