2. About a mile above the northern side of the 2nd

Bar, and nearly abreast of Nimrod Creek, is a rock known to fishermen as Sai Sheklung

(小石龍). Its length, parallel with the river bank, is 150 feet, and its width across is 100 feet.

There is a depth of 9 feet water on the shallowest

part at low water spring tides. It lies 300 yards

from the raised bank of Pottinger Island. When over the centre of this rock 2nd Bar Pagoda

bears S. 41° 24' W.; See Cheetow Pagoda, S. 26° 10' W.; Mammal Hill, N. 69°34′ W. Fishing

stakes are to be found over and beyond this

rock from November to March each year.

3. Half a mile N.W. W. from Sai Sheklung, and

575 yards from the east bank of the river, is

another rock locally known as Tai Sheklung

(大石龍). The length and breadth of its

surface is about 150 feet. There is a depth of

11 feet water on the shoalest part, with 4 and 6

fathoms close to it. The bearings are:- High

peak of Tiger Island, S. 14° 30' E.; See Cheetow

Pagoda, S. 22°W.; 2nd Bar Pagoda, S. 33°30' W.

Note. "Mammal Hill," not marked on the charts, is 21 miles W.S.W.of 1st Bar Island, in latitude 23° 03 05′′ N., longitude 113°27′19′′ E. It is a smooth round hill with a cone-shaped summit, and is easily distinguishable when observed from the south-eastward, as it is the centre one of a group of three cone-shaped hills.

4. A rock of small extent, on which the s.s. Sin. Nanzing touched, having a depth of 10 feet on it at low water, lies nearly in mid-river of Collinson Reach. 50-foot Hill on Danes Island bears N. 5°30′ E. The westernmost high peak, marked on the chart 290 feet high, bears N. 48° W., and Matheson Point N. 55°E.

5. A pinnacle-shaped rock lies about 400 yards N.W. from Pedder Island, Whampoa Channel, having

a depth of 8 feet over it. From it the small pagoda, east end of Whampoa Island; bears N. 41° 40' W.; and Whampoa Pagoda, N. 84° 40 W.

6. A rock of small dimensions, covered by 8 feet at

low water, lies 45 yards N. 68° W. from the last-

mentioned rock. From it the small pagoda on

the east end of Whampoa Island bears S. 13° W.;

and Whampoa Pagoda, N. 85° W.

7. A rock having a surface of about 50 feet either way, on which the s.s. Powan ran in the year 1874, has a depth of 5 feet over the shallowest

part. It lies nearly in mid-river in the Whampoa

Channel, 183 yards from the north bank of the

river. From its centre Whampoa Pagoda bears

四十一度四十分西叉視扒洲塔爲北八十四度四十分 之一偏北相距南岸四十八丈之處有一鐘形礁潮落時礁上水深二尺五寸自礁視扒洲塔爲南七十一度東又視赤崗塔爲南七十八度三十分西 時礁上水深六尺自礁視扒洲塔為南六十八度三十分叉視赤崗塔爲南八十一度西又視獵德大廟爲北七十三度西 一自該礁視正西三分 度西叉唬獵德大廟爲北八十三度西 一自該礁視正西偏北相距約二里又距南岸三十九丈之處有礁石一塊礁面腐計可容十七尺見方潮落 二尺礁上最淺之處水深四尺前於同治十三年有保安輪船會誤觸此礁自礁之正中視扒洲塔爲南三十四度三十分東又戒赤崗塔爲南八十二 白礁祺黄埔角之小塔爲南十三度西又視扒洲塔爲北八十五度西 一黃埔河將近中央相距北岸四十七丈之處有礁石一塊長寬俱約四十 寸前經新南陞輪 微觸礁自礁視長洲白兎崗爲北五度三十分東又視極西之高峰爲北四十八度西此峰英國海道圖說載明二百四十七 高义鹂白草尾爲北五十五度東 一黄埔河沙煲沙之西北相距一百二丈之處有尖角礁一塊礁上水深六尺八寸自礁視黄埔東角之小塔爲北 四度三十分 視石獅頭爲南二十二度西又視蓮花塔爲南三十三度三十分西 一新造將近中央之處有小暗礁石潮落時礁上水深八尺五 十七丈之處有礁俗呼爲大石龍長寬俱約一百二十八尺礁上最淺之處水深九尺三寸近礁之處水深或六四拓不等自礁視大虎島頂爲南十 南方視此山最易辨認緣有三山並列形勢尖圓居中者卽該漏口之山也 一小石龍之西北三分之一偏西相距一里半之遙乂距江東岸一百四 度北二十三度三分五秒經度中國中線西三度一分二十九秒英國中線東一百十三度二十七分十九秒該處有勢平形圓之山項係尖圓式自東 四分西礁上及附近之處每年自九月至三月設有捕魚之釣竿等類查羅涌口海道圖說未經群載該漏口在大牛沙之西南偏西相距八里又在緯 一自該礁視北六十八度西相距十一丈之處有小礁-塊潮落時礁上水深六尺八寸
