GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.-No. 244.

1. Tenders will be received at this Office until

Wednesday, the 31st May, 1882, for the con- struction of a Steam Launch for the Government

Health Officer, to be built under the supervision and to the satisfaction of the Government Marine

Surveyor, at whose Office a specification may be

seen.

2. Tenders to state prices and earliest date on

which Launch can be delivered.

3. For form of tender, specification, and further

particulars, apply at the Surveyor's Office.

4. No tender will be received unless the

person

tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $100 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer,

which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown if such

person refuses to carry out his tender, should

the tender be accepted.

The Government does not bind itself to accept

the lowest or any tender.

Bar Buoys at Tamsui.

Notice is hereby given that the approach to the Tamsui Bar from seaward is now marked by two buoys, a black one on the northern and a red one on the southern side.
