GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.-No.219.

His Excellency the Administrator has been pleased to make the following provisional and temporary appointments in the Registrar General's Office:-

Mr. Ho Fuk, to be Chinese Clerk and

Interpreter.

Mr. Ho TS'UNG-CHI, to be Junior Registra-

tion Clerk.

These appointments will date as from the 1st

instant.

NOTICE.

It is hereby notified that ships conveying Chi-

nese Passengers under the provisions of Ordi-

nance No.5 of 1874, will not be allowed to carry

them on the Upper or Weather Deck between

the 1st of June and the 15th of October, inclu-

sive.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.-No. 203.

Tenders will be received at this Office until noon of Wednesday, the 10th May, 1882, for reforming and repairing 500 feet lineal of the Queen's Road between New East Street and Centre Street.

For form of tender, specification, and further particulars, apply at the Surveyor General's Office. No tender will be received unless the person

tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $50 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown if such person refuses to carry out his tender, should the tender be accepted.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
