Notice is hereby given that The North British Rubber Company, (Limited) have complied with the requirements of Ordinances 16 of 1873, and 13 of 1885, for the registration in this Colony of their Marks as applied to India Rubber goods of all kinds, but more especially Boots and Shoes: and that he same have been duly registered.

IN COUNCIL,

UNDER

"The Passenger Ships Ordinance, 1874.”

WHEREAS it is expedient to make provision for the carriage of deck passengers to and from places without the limits of the Straits of Malacca :

NOW IT IS HEREBY ORDERED by His Excellency the Officer Administering the Govern- ment of the Straits Settlements, by and with the advice of the Executive Council thereof, under the powers in that behalf given by Section 10 of "The Passenger Ships Ordinance, 1874," as follows:-

1. Ships of whatever nationality arriving at any port of the Colony from Hongkong, and British hips arriving at any port of the Colony from any port or place to which the legislation of the legisla

re of Hongkong under "The Chinese Passenger Act, 1855," for the time being extends, may bring leek passengers in such number as may, in each particular case, be allowed by any certificate or

eense issued by the proper officer under such legislative authority.

2. Any German Ship arriving at any port of the Colony from any of the Treaty Ports in China ay bring deck passengers in such number as may be allowed and prescribed by any certificate or ense issued by the proper German Consular anthority at the Treaty Port from which she has cleared accordance with the German Consular Law for the time being applicable to such ships.
