PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency WILLIAM HENRY MARSH, Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Officer Administering the Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.

Whereas by section 33 of Ordinance 21 of 1885, entitled The Municipal Rates Ordinance, 1885, it is enacted that:-

"This Ordinance shall take effect upon a day to be hereafter proclaimed by the Governor": Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM HENRY MARSH, Officer Administering the Government of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice Admiral of the same, in pursuance of the said section and by virtue of the authority in me vested, do hereby under my hand proclaim that the said Ordinance shall commence and take effect on and after the Sixth day of January, 1886.
