6. Nothing in regulation 3 or regulation 5 shall have the effect of rendering invalid any licence issued under the Vehicle and Traffic Regulations Ordinance, 1912, which was valid and in force immediately before the coming into operation of these regulations.

7. No fee shall be payable in respect of the licence of a vehicle which belongs to the Government or is ordinarily employed on Government service.

8. The Captain Superintendent of Police may issue a trader's licence, at a fee of $24 annually and subject to such conditions as he may see fit to impose, in respect of a motor car which is to be used solely for demonstration purposes.

The vehicle so licensed shall bear a distinctive number coloured red upon a white ground.

9. The Captain Superintendent of Police may issue a temporary licence, at a fee of $2 a month, valid for a period not exceeding six months, in respect of a motor car which is brought into the Colony for temporary use pending re-exportation.

10. The fees for public jinrikishas in the Island of Hongkong, Lower Levels, are payable quarterly in advance on the 1st December, 1st March, 1st June, and 1st Septem- ber. The fees for public jinrikishas in the Peak District, the Caine Road Level, and in Kowloon and New Kowloon are payable half-yearly in advance on the 1st December and the 1st June.

11. Notwithstanding anything contained in regulation 3 or regulation 5, it shall be lawful for the Captain Superintendent of Police in his discretion to issue driver or vehicle licences for periods of less than one year at proportionate fees.

Drivers.

12. A driver's licence is not transferable.

13. No person shall drive a vehicle in respect of which a driver's licence is required unless he has an appropriate driver's licence.

14. A driver shall not drive a vehicle in respect of which a vehicle licence is required, unless such vehicle is duly licensed.

15. A driver shall not be intoxicated while driving a vehicle or while otherwise in charge of it.

16. A driver shall not leave his vehicle unattended in a road.
