EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.

No. 145.-His Excellency the Governor in Council has been pleased to direct, under section 7 of the Public Health and Buildings Ordinance, 1903, Ordinance No. 1 of 1903, that the following names be added to the List of Authorized Architects published in Government Notification No. 117 of the 14th March, 1919 :---

Regulation made by the Governor in Council under section 5 of the Ferries Ordinance, 1917, Ordinance No. 28 of 1917, this 18th day of March, 1920.

The Regulations made by the Governor in Council under section 5 of the Ferries Ordinance, 1917, on the 30th day of May, 1918, and published in the Gazette on the 31st day of May, 1918, as Government Notification No. 204 are hereby amended by deleting from the list of piers specified in condition (x) of the conditions of licences" Eastern Street Pier ".

Regulation made by the Governor in Council under section 4 (2) of the Banking Business (Prohibited Control) Ordinance, 1919, Ordinance No. 2 of 1919, this 18th day of March, 1920.

DEFINITION OF BANKING BUSINESS.

Banking Business" for the purposes of the said Ordinance means receiving money on current account or on deposit: accepting bills of exchange: making, discounting, buying, selling, collecting or dealing in bills of exchange, promissory notes and drafts whether negotiable or not: buying, selling or collecting coupons: buying or selling foreign exchange by cable-transfer or otherwise: issuing for subscription or purchase or underwriting the issue of loans, shares or securitics: making or negotiating loans for commercial or industrial objects or granting and issuing letters of credit and circular notes: except in so far as such operations form part of and are for the purposes of and incidental to the conduct of a business carried on for other purposes by the company, firm or indidual by whom such operations are transacted.

No. 148. It is hereby notified for information that, under section 10 of the Medical Registration Ordinance, 1884, Ordinance No. 1 of 1884, Lieutenant-Colonel and Brevet-Colonel LAWRENCE HUMPHRY, C.M.G., R.A.M.C., will be a Member of the Medical Board, vice Lieutenant-Colonel G. B. CRISP, R.A.M.C., with effect from the 12th March, 1920.
