APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 119. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make the following appointments, during the absence on leave of His Honour Sir WILLIAM REES DAVIES, Kt., K.C., or until further notice :

His Honour Mr. HENRY HESSEY JOHNSTON COMPERTZ to act as Chief Justice, Mr. JOHN ROSKRUGE WOOD to act as Puisue Judge,

with effect from the 1st March, 1920.

No. 120. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. EDWARD ALEXANDER IRVING temporarily to act as First Police Magistrate and Coroner in addition to his other duties, with effect from the 1st March, 1920.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the Honourable Mr. ROBERT OLIPHANT HUTCHISON, M.B.E., to be a Director of the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions during the absence on leave of the Honourable Mr. CHARLES McIlvaine Messer, O.B.E., or until further notice, with effect from the 1st March, 1920.

No. 122. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ARTHUR RAMSDEN CAVALIER to be a Member of the Board of Examiners, vice Mr. NICHolas George NOLAN, deceased, with effect from the 1st March, 1920.

No. 123. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to re-appoint, provi- sionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, the Honourable Mr. LAU CHU-PAK to be an Un-official Member of the Legislative Council for a further period of two years with effect from this date.

No. 124.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Dr. WILFRED VINCENT MILLER KOCH to be a Member of the Sanitary Board for a term of three years with effect from the 1st March, 1920, vice Mr. FRANCIS BULMER LYON BOWLEY resigned.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

No. 125. It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excellency the Governor to make an Order on the expiration of six months from the date hereof direct- ing the removal of all graves in that portion of Section A in Chai Wan Cemetery which is shown cross-hatched in red on a plan deposited in the Office of the Sanitary Depart- ment in this Colony and signed by the Head of the Sanitary Department. Such Order will be made for the purpose of the execution of a public work namely the proper laying out of such area, in terraces, for future interment.
