An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hong- kong, with the advice and consent of the Le- gislative Council thereof, to apply a sum not exceeding One million Two hundred and Thirty-nine thousand Eight hundred and Ninety-seven Dollars to the Public Service of the Year 1889.

[19th November, 1888.] HEREAS the expenditure required for the service of this Colony for the year 1889 has been estimated at the sum of One million Two hundred and Thirty-nine thousand Eight hundred and Ninety-seven Dollars: Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. A sum not exceeding One million Two hundred and Thirty-nine thousand Eight hundred and Ninety-seven Dollars shall be and the same is hereby charged upon the revenue of this Colony for the service of the year 1889, and the said sum so charged may be expended as hereinafter specified; that is to say:-
