The Board met pursuant to adjournment.
The Minutes of the Meeting held on the 9th of August, were read and confirmed. MORTALITY RETURNS.--Laid on the table returns by the Registrar General showing the
deaths registered during the weeks ended the 4th and 11th instant.
SMALL-POX EPIDEMIC.-Read a letter from the Colonial Secretary in reply to the Board's letter of the 13th instant, enclosing a resolution on this subject agreed to at a former meeting, No. 61 and also a letter of the late Board recommending the erection of an epidemic Hospital in a 1888. suburban site.

Mr. FRANCIS moved :-
That the letter of the late Board of the 4th of June, 1888, and the Colonial Secretary's letter of the 15th instant be referred to the Committee now sitting on the vaccination ques- tion, and that they be instructed to prepare a complete body of suggestions on all matters connected with Small-pox for transmission to the Government, and that Mr. Ede's name be added to the Committee.
The Vice-President seconded.
