The Council met pursuant to adjournment.

The Minutes of the last Meeting, held on the 12th instant, were read and confirmed.

VOTE REFERRED TO THE FINANCE COMMITTEE.-Read the following Minute by His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government :-

FREDERICK STEWART.

The Officer Administering the Government recommends the Council to vote the sum of

2015 of 1888. 1

$1,600, being the balance of the vote passed in May, 1887, for $9,600, for the extension of the Cattle Market, of which only $8,000 were expended in 1887.

Government House, Hongkong, 17th December, 1888.

The Acting Treasurer moved that this vote, be referred to the Finance Committee. The Surveyor General seconded.
