HUGH MCCALLUM, Secretary.
SANITARY BOARD ROOM,
HONGKONG, 1st March, 1890.
NOTE. There is a slight difference between the death-rate shown in this summary, and that given in the Mortality Statistics issued by the Registrar-General for the estimated population of the Colony. The difference arises from the cir- cumstance that the estimated population for the Kau-lung district is given at 2,000 more than the Registrar- General's estimate. The reason for adding the 2,000 is given in a report on the sanitary condition of Kau-hung made in the early part of 1885.
