Governor.

By His Excellency Sir G. WILLIAM DES VOEUX, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong- kong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.

Whereas by section 34 of Ordinance 11 of 1890, entitled An Ordinance to amend and consolidate the law relating to the protection of Women and Girls, it is enacted as follows:---

"This Ordinance shall not come into operation unless and until the Officer Administering the Government notifies by Proclamation that it is Her Majesty's pleasure not to disallow the same and thereafter it shall come into operation upon such day as the Officer Administering the Government shall notify by the same or any other Proclamation.'

WILLIAM DES VEUX, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, in pursuance of the said section and by virtue of the authority in me vested, do hereby under my hand proclaim that the said Ordi- nance shall come into force on the 6th day of April, 1891.
