COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 287.-It is hereby notified, with reference to Notification No. S. 1 published in the Gazette of the 3rd January, 1919, that information has been received from the Consul-General for the Netherlands-India to the effect that the declaration of Hongkong as an infected port on account of plague has been rescinded by his Govern-

ment.

No. S. 288.---It is hereby notified, with reference to Notification No. S. 88 of the 19th April, 1918, that information has been received from H. B. M. Conşul at Ningpo to the effect that the sanitary measures imposed against arrivals from Hongkong have been withdrawn.

All vessels arriving from Hongkong will be inspected. Per- sons suspected of infection will be isolated and in such event the vessel will be disinfected. If any cases of cerebro-spinal meningitis are discovered the vessel and al passengers to Indo-China will be put in quarantine for six days and disinfected. No restrictions as regards load- ing and disembarking cargo.

Newchwang. All vessels arriving from Hongkong will be treated as
