NOTICES TO MARINERS.

THE following telegram has been received from the War Office Emigration Agent, Tsingtau, in charge of returned coolies at that port and is published for general informa-

tion:

Quarantine proclaimed against Hongkong. All ships arriving from there must fumigate before entering this port. Japanese Authorities have no faci- lities for fumigation here. Special arrangements have been made for coolic transports to enter this port from Hongkong provided there is no loading or unloading of cargo at Hongkong and no embarkation of passengers or workmen there, but only coal, water and provisions to be taken on board."

TRANSLATION.

Imperial Japanese Troops' Ordinance No. 126.

It is hereby notified that on and after the 2nd July, 1919, all vessels arriving from or calling at Bombay, Batavia, Hongkong, or Foochow, shall not be allowed for the pre- sent to enter the Port of Tsingtao, unless they have duly been fumigated, and destroyed rats on board before their arrival at this Port.
