No. 240. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint FRANCIS WILLIAM CLARK, M.D., Medical Officer of Health, to act as Colonial Veterinary Surgeon in addition to his other duties, during the absence on leave of ADAM GIBSON, M.R.C.V.S., or until further notice, with effect from the 20th March.

No. 241.-His Majesty the KING has been pleased to appoint Brigadier-General Sir FREDERICK JOHN DEALTRY LUGARD, K.C.M.G., C.B., D.S.O., late High Commissioner, Northern Nigeria, to be Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, vice Sir MATTHEW NATHAN, K.C.M.G., appointed Governor of Natal.

No. 242. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint EDWARD Dudley CORSCADEN WOLFE to act as Second Police Magistrate, with effect from the 8th instant.

No. 243. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint CHARLES ALEX- ANDER DICK MELBOURNE, Barrister-at-Law, to act as Deputy Registrar and Appraiser at the Supreme Court, with effect from the 8th instant.

No. 244.-It is hereby notified with reference to the regulations contained in Govern- ment Notification No. 259 of the 24th April, 1903, that the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration has been granted to Major A. CHAPMAN, V.D., Commandant, Hongkong Volunteer Corps, under the provisions of the Royal Warrant dated the 18th day of May, 1899, as amended by the Royal Warrant dated the 3rd day of August, 1902.

No. 245.-It is hereby notified with reference to the regulations contained in Govern- ment Notification No. 259 of the 24th April, 1903, that the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Service Medal has been granted to Bombardier A. E. ROGERS, Hongkong Volunteer Corps, under the provisions of the Royal Warrant dated the 18th day of May, 1899, as amended by the Royal Warrant dated the 3rd day of August, 1902.
