SHANGHAI DISTRICT-YANGTZE RIVER.
North Channel Entrance-Tsungming Crossing.
Intended Alterations in Buoyage-Caution.
NOTICE is hereby given that on or about the 19th May, 1919, the following alterations will be made in the buoyage of the Tsungming Crossing, North Channel Entrance to the Yangtze River:-
The Middle Island Buoy will be discontinued.
The East Entrance Buoy will be moved about 14 miles S. 63° E. from its pre- sent position and its navigating colour changed from red to black.
The Crossing Buoy will be moved about 12 miles S. 51° E. from its present
position and its navigating colour changed from red to black.
The West Spit Buoy will be moved about 7 cables S. 44° E. from its present
position. Its characteristics will not be changed.
CAUTION.
A recent survey of the Crossing shows that the central bank in the vicinity of the Crossing Buoy has extended to the eastward. Until the above alterations in buoyage have been made, vessels should pass the Crossing Buoy at a distance of not less than 2 cables. The least water found on the Crossing as at present buoyed is 16 feet at low water of extraordinary spring tides.
All bearings given are magnetic.
