His Excellency the Governor is pleased to direct that Monday, the 2nd August, being a Bank Holiday, is to be observed as a Holiday by the Government Departments.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Dr. F. W. CLARK, Medical Officer of Health, to be Superintendent of Statistics in the Registrar General's Department.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.- No. 299.

With reference to the above Notification, His Excellency the Governor is further pleased to appoint Dr. F. W. CLARK, Medical Officer of Health, to be the Medical Officer who shall assist the Registrar General or Registrar in the manner provided in section 12 (e) of "The Bigths and Deaths Registration Ordinance, 1896,” to ascertain, when necessary, the true cause of death.
