A burning joss stick attached to a box of matches wrapped in kerosine soaked paper was discovered on a cupboard under compositors' desk which had apparently been put through the windows the vene- tians of which were open. About 4 acres of The fire broke out amongst a quantity of charcoal. An alarm was raised and the Brigade turned out to Praya West where a quantity of rubbish was being burnt by the Sanitary Authorities.
