"OTICE is hereby given that the Petition. Specification and Declaration required

Re NG PO TSUN, of 166, Hollywood by the above Ordinance have been duly filed in the Office of the Colonial Secretary of Hongkong, and that it is the intention of the above-named JAMES JOXES MELDRUM and THOMAS FREDERICK MELDRUM by Messrs. JARDINE, MATHESON & Co., their Agents, to apply at the Sitting of the Legislative Council hereifter mentionel for Lefters Patent for the exclusive use within the stbd Colony of the above mentioned Invention.

RIDAY, the 27th day of May, 1898, at 12 o'clock at Noon, precisely, has been fixed for the First General Meeting of Cre- ditors in the above Matter, to be held at the Official Receiver's Office, Land Office, Queen's Road Central, Victoria aforesaid.

No Creditor can vote unless he previously proves his debt.

Forms of Proof and Proxy can be obtainol at the Official Receiver's Office daring Office hours.

At the First General Meeting the Creditors will be asked to consider whether the Debtors shall be adjudged Bankrupt or whether they. the Creditors, will entertain a proposal for a Composition or Scheme of Arrangement.

OTICE is hereby given that Messieurs SHEWAN, TOMES AND COMPANY, of Victoria, in the Colony of Hongkong, Merchants, hare, on the 9th day of April, 1898, applied to His Excellency the Olleer Administering the Government of Hongkong, for leave to register a certain Trade Mark in the Office of the Colo- nial Secretary for the Colony of Hongkong in the name of the said SHEWAN, TOMES AND COMPANY.

16. Yams of wool, worsted or hair. 17. Cloths and stuffs of wool worsted or

hair.

20. Subst mes used as food or as ingre- dients in food (including teas, pre- serves, biscuits, cassia selected, cassia lignen. broken cassia, broken cassia selected. Saigon cassia, broken Saigon casia, and Saigon cassia rolls).

21. Fermented Equors and spirits. 22. Mineral and aërated waters (including

ginger beer).

23. Candles, common soap, detergents; illu- minating, heating or lubricating oils; matches and starch blue and other preparations for laundry purposes. 24. Perfumery (including toilet articles and preparations for the teeth and hair and perfumed soap).

25. Games of all kinds, archery, fishing

tackle and toys.

26. Umbrellas, walking sticks, fans, brushes

and combs.

27. Buttons of all kinds. 28. Matting of all kinds.

29. Canes and bamboos of all kinds, 30. Bristles.

A Facsimile of the said Trade Mark can be secu upon application to the Office of the Colonial Secretary, Hongkong.
