That the Government be asked to authorize the employment of the necessary additional assistance,

The Board then adjourned.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.-No. 184.

His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint ROBERT DALY ORMSBY, provisionally, to be a Member of the Executive Council during the absence of Henry ERNEST WODELOUSE. C.M.G., from the Colony or until further notice.

With reference to Government Notification No. 71 of the 14th February, 1898, His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint WILLIAM CHARLES HOLLAND HASTINGS (Retired Commander, R.N..) to be Chairman of the Commission thereunder notified, in the place of the Honourable HENRY ERNEST WODEHOUSE, C.M 6., who has resigned that appointment on the said Commission.
