The following information has been received :-

The Joss House at Creek Point has been pulled down and a Jetty is being constructed.

APPROACHES TO YANGTSE, NORTH CHANNEL.
On or about the 1st December, 1899, the following changes in the buoyage of the Channel to the Northward of Middle Island will be effected :-
The Tsungming Bank Upper buoy will be shifted 14 cables South from its present position, aud from it Middle Island beacon will bear about S. 51° E., distant about 3·1 miles.”
A Buoy, named the Bush Island buoy, will be placed to the Northward of Bush Island. It will be a red buoy bearing a black diamond cage, and from it Middle Island beacon will bear about S. 65° E. distant about 45 miles.
DIRECTIONS.
The following directions, which should then be followed by inward bound vessels, are given provisionally :-
An inward bound vessel should pass the Tsungming Bank buoy and the Tsungming Bauk Upper buoy at a distance of two cables on her starboard hand, When abreast of the Tsungming Bank Upper buoy, steer direct for the Bush Island buoy, passing it, however, at a distance of one cable on your starboard hand. From Bush Island buoy steer to pass the
North-western end of Bush Island at a distance of about two cables.
CAUTION.Until these changes are effected, an inward bound vessel, after passing the Tsungming Bank buoy at a distance of two cables, should steer to pass the Tsungming Bank Upper boy at a distance of three cables on her starboard hand. From the Tsungming Bank Upper buoy steer W. N. until the beacon in the Quarantine Station bears S. 10° W., then steer to pass the North-western end of Bush Island at a distance of about two cables.
The Channel to the Northward of Bush Island is now only about two cables wide between the 18 feet contours, and continues to narrow.
All bearings and courses given are magnetic.

YESAKI LIGHTIOUSE.
On and after November 1st, 1899, a Red Sector will be exhibited from Yesaki Lighthouse on the north point of Island of Awaji to cover Shikanose Sunken Rock, in Harimanada, Inland Sea.
The arc of the Red Sector will extend 18° from N. 75° 30′ E., to S. 83° 30′ E.
The bearings are true and as observed from seaward.
Charts 93, 2875. KANTORIZAKI LIGHTHOUSE.
Notice is hereby given that on and after November 15th, 1899, a Fixed White Light will be exhibited from the Light- house recently erected on Kantorizaki, Province of Kii.
The Lighthouse is built of Wood, Square in shape, painted White, and is 15 feet from the base to the centre of the Lantern.
The are of illumination of the Light will be 212° 44′ between the bearings of S. 11° 28′ W., and N. 44° 12′ E. The bearings are true, and as observed from seaward,
The elevation of the Light above the soa will be 117 feet, and in clear weather the Light will be seen from a distance of 6 nautical miles. The position of the Lighthouse, according to the Japanese Naval Chart No. 62, is
Lat. 33° 34′ 59′′ North.
Long. 135° 57′ 52′′ East of Greenwich. Chart 951.

YOKOHAMA BAY.
Dredgers employed in dredging the harbour discharge their mud close to the Eastward of the Southern Breakwater, and in doing so have formed a small bank extending about 3 of a cable from the breakwater, an running parallel to it.
