PANY, LIMITED, will be held at the Company's office, No. 1 Prince's Building, 2nd floor, Chater Road, on Thursday, the 28th day of March, 1907, at 12 o'clock noon, for the purpose of con- sidering and if thought fit passing the following as a Special Resolution, that is to say :-

That the Company be wound up volun- tarily under the provisions of the Companies Ordinance, 1865, and that Mr. A. R. Lowe, Chartered Account- ant, of Hongkong be hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.

Should the said resolution be passed by the equisite majority it will be submitted for confirmation as a Special Resolution to another meeting of shareholders to be subsequently

convened.

Company will be held at its registered offices, Alexandra Buildings, Des Voeux Road Central, on Wednesday the 3rd April next, at 12 o'clock noon, for the purpose of having laid before them the accounts showing the manner in which the winding up has been conducted and the Property of the Company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidators.

PASSED 13TH FEBRUARY, 1907.

Tan Extraordinary General Meeting of

A THE JAPAN BREWERY COMPANY,

LIMITED, duly convened and held at No. 123. Yamate-cho, Yokohama, on the 13th day of February, 1907, the Subjoined Special Resolu- tions were duly passed, and at a subsequent Extraordinary General Meeting of the said Company, also duly convened and held at the same place on the 28th day of February, 1907, the subjoined Special Resolutions were duly confirmed:-

1. That the Company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Memorandum of Association and of The Companics Ordinances 1865 to 1890 of the Colony of Hongkong. 2.-That FRANK SCOTT JAMES be ap- pointed the Liquidator of the Com- pany for the purposes of such winding up, and that in the event of the said FRANK SCOTT JAMES leaving Japan before the winding up of the Com- pany be completed, he, the said FRANK SCOTT JAMES, shall be empowered to nominate CHARLES BURTON BERNARD as Liquidator of the Com- pany in his place.

3. That the Liquidator be and he is hereby authorised to adopt aud carry out the Agreement entered into be- tween FRANK FCOTT JAMES as Managing Director of the Company

TAI PO of No. 15 Wan Street New Kowloon in the Colony of Hongkong Trader carrying on business under the style of Ng Shing Cheung Chiu Ki has on the 18th day of February 1907 applied for the registration in Hongkong of the following Trade Mark :—

A Chinese pagoda

in the name of the said KWONG TAI PO who claims to be the sole proprietor thereof.

The Trade Mark has been used by the Applicant in respect

of the following goods :--

Buttons of all kinds other than of pre- cious metals or imitations thereof, in Class 50 (8).

A facsimile of the Trade Mark can be seen at the Office of the Colonial Secretary of Hongkong.

4. The Liquidator shall be empowered to grant such gratuity to the employés of the Company upon the termination of their engagement by the Company as he may consider expedient.

5. The remuneration of the Liquidator shall be two and one half per cent. of the net cash available for return to the Shareholders of the Company.

6. In the event of CHARLES BURTON BERNARD aforesaid being nominated Liquidator in the place of FRANK SCOTT JAMES he shall have the same powers as if originally appointed under these Resolutions. He shall

receive as remuneration such part of the Liquidator's remuneration as may be arranged between him and said FRANK SCOTT JAMES.

Manufacturers. have on the 26th day of November 1906 applied for the registration,

in Hongkong, in the Register of Trade Marks, of the following Trade Mark :-

A Shield whereon appears the words "Warranted Anglo-Indian Gauze Not to Shrink," beneath the shield being a oval with four small orna- mentations springing therefrom. Within the oval is a branch of a tree bent to a shape resembling the letter "S" on the lower part of which is perched a bird known as a Jay, in the name of JOHN SMEDLEY, LIMITED, who claim to be the sole proprietors thereof.

The Trade Mark has been used by the Ap- plicants in respect of the following goods:-
