Rule made by the Governor in Council under section 6 of the New Territories Regulation Ordinance, 1910, Ordinance No. 34 of 1910, on the 20th day of October, 1931.

The rules under the heading "Forestry licences set forth on pages 427-129 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1844-1925, are hereby amended as follows,
(1) by the rescission of rule 8 and the substitution there for of the following
rule,--
8. For each licence a fee at the rate of twenty cents per acre per annum shall be charged. The fee shall be paid in advance and the mini- mum fee will be $1.
(2) by the rescission of rule 9 and the substitution therefor of the following
rule,-
9. Licensees may fell pine trees in their plantations, but so that not
more than one-tenth of the trees in a lot be felled in any one year.
Wild trees or growth of any description (grass excepted) shall not be cut or in any way damaged.
Permission to remove trees which are dangerous to buildings or property of any description must be obtained from the Superintendent, Botanical and Forestry Department, through the District Officer.
If in the opinion of the District Officer more than one-tenth of the pine trees in any lot is felled in any one year, or if in his opinion there has been a breach in any other respect of this rule, he may refuse to re-issue the licence for the relevant plantation.
(3) by the rescission of rule 11 and the substitution therefor of the following
rule,---
11. The Government shall have the first offer of trees on plantations
when the licensee wishes to dispose of them.
