COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
No. 437. Owing to difficulties which have arisen in connection with the attesta- tion of signatures to documents executed in the Colonies, and required for use in England or elsewhere, it is hereby notified-
1. That
persons
who may
have occasion to send certificates, powers of attorney, judicial acts or other documents for legal use in the United Kingdom, should have these documents authenticated in the Colony, either by the Governor or by a Notary Public duly authorised and practising in the Colony. Except in special cases the authentication should be by a Notary Public.
2. In cases where the documents are intended to be used in foreign countries, the parties should have the documents authenticated in the Colony, either by the Governor or by a Notary Public. In the latter case, the certificate of the Notary Public should be authenticated by the Consular Representative of the Country in which it is intended to use the docu- ment, or, if there is no such Consular Representative in Hong Kong, the notarial attestation should be authenticated by the Governor.

No. 439.-It is hereby notified for general information that, pursuant to section 5 of the Criminal Procedure Ordinance, 1899, His Honour the Chief Justice has ordered that the next Criminal Sessions for the despatch of the business of the Court shall be held on Monday, the 20th day of July, 1931, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon.
