The rainfall for the month of January at the Botanical Gardens was Qiu. 33 on 6 days, at the Matilda Hospital, Mount Kellett, it was (ins. 30 on 4 days, at Fanling, Oin. 20 on 1 day, at the Royal Naval Hospital, Hong Kong, 0in. 42 on 2 days, and at the Police Station, Taipo, (in. 08 on 3 days.
The lowest reading of the barometer (M.S.L.) was 29ins. 879 at 15h. on the 6th. The maximum gust velocity, as recorded by the Dines-Baxendell anemograph, was at the rate of 42 miles per hour at 5h 30m. on the 10th and at 0. 16m. on the 27th.
