No. 261. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has given his assent, in the name and on behalf of His Majesty the King, to the following Ordi- nances passed by the Legislative Council:--
Ordinance No. 7 of 1919.-An Ordinance to amend the law relating to the
registration of births and deaths.
Ordinance No. 8 of 1919.-An Ordinance to amend the Arms and Ammunition Ordinance, 1900.
Ordinance No. 9 of 1919.-An Ordinance to make provision for determining the date of the termination of the present war,
and for purposes connected therewith.
Ordinance No. 10 of 1919.-An Ordinanes to provide for the Incorporation of
the Missions to Seamen in Hongkong.

An Ordinance to amend the law relating to
the registration of births and deaths.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Births and Short title. Deaths Registration Amendment Ordinance, 1919, and shall be read and construed as one with the Births and Deaths Registration Ordinance, 1896, and these two Ordinances may be cited together as the Births and Deaths Registration Ordinances, 1896 to 1919.

2. Section 17 (2) of the Births and Deaths Registra- Amendment tion Ordinance, 1896, is hereby amended by inserting of section 17 after the words cause of death" in line six of that (2) of Ordi-
nance No. 7 sub-section the following words, namely, "and includ- of 1896. ing a statement as to whether any, and if so what, anaesthetic was administered during the said illness and, if so, how long before death it was administered”.
