Now, therefore, I, CLAUD SEVERN, Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Officer Administering the Government of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, by and with the advice of the Executive Council of this Colony, do, by this Proclamation, prohibit for a further period of one year from and including the 28th day of May, 1919, either to be exported from the Colony of Hongkong, or to be carried coastwise within the said Colony, Arms, Ammunition, Gun- powder, Military and Naval Stores, Sulphur and Saltpetre, the last two being articles which I judge capable of being converted into or made useful in increasing the quantity of Military or Naval Stores, or any or either of such Arms, Ammunition, Gunpowder, Stores, Goods or Articles respectively, unless this Proclamation shall, in the meantime, be revoked, or unless permission shall have been obtained under Section 4 of the Ordi- nance above mentioned.

Given under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony at Victoria, Hongkong, this 23rd day of May, 1919.

Order made by the Officer Administering the Government in Council under sections 3 and 4 of the Importation and Exportation Ordinance, 1915, Ordinance No. 32 of 1915, on the 22nd day of May, 1919.

Rules 10 and 11 of the Rules made by the Governor in Council with regard to importation and exportation in Notification No. 2, dated the 6th January, 1916, and published in the Gazette of the 7th January, 1916, are hereby repealed..

Order made by the Officer Administering the Government in Council under sections 3 and 4 of the Importation and Exportation Ordinance, 1915, Ordinance No. 32 of 1915, on the 22nd day of May, 1919.

Rule 41 of the rules made by the Governor in Council under the above Ordinance and subsequently amended is further amended as follows:----

1. By the deletion of the words "and Asiatic" before the word "Russia" and by the insertion of the words "Iceland and the Faroe Islands" after the word Roumania" in paragraph 3.

2. By the transfer of the heading "Asbestos" from Class (B) to Class (C) and

of the heading "Tin Ore" from Class (E) to Class (C).

NOTE 2.-The effect of the first amendment is to permit the exportation of goods in Class (C) to Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and Asiatic Russia.
