No. 88. It is hereby notified that His Honour Sir WILLIAM REES-DAVIES, Knight, Chief Justice, has by Commission signed by him, and dated the 10th day of February, 1919, appointed WALTER SCHOFIELD, Deputy Registrar and Accountant of the Supreme Court of Hongkong, to be a Commissioner to administer oaths and take declarations, affirmations, and attestations of honour in the Court, so long as he shall hold the said office of the Deputy Registrar and Accountant.

No. 90.--It is hereby notified that, on the application of the CHINA SUGAR REFIN- ING COMPANY, LIMITED, and of GEORGE MORISON SHAW, Sugar Refiner, and HECTOR MCEWAN MCTAVISH of Victoria, in the Colony of Hongkong, His Excellency the Officer Administer- ing the Government in Council has been pleased to direct that the said CHINA SUGAR REFINING COMPANY, LIMITED, and GEORGE MORISON SHAW, Sugar Refiner, and HECTOR MCEWAN MCTAVISH, may use and publish in the Colony for a further period of nine. months from the 30th day of January, 1919, an invention for the manufacture, treatment and preparation of carbon for use in decolourizing sugar solutions and in the clarifica- tion of sugar syrups without prejudice to the Letters Patent to be granted for the said invention.
