2. The definition of the term 66 arms in section 2 Amendment of the Arms and Ammunition Ordinance, 1900, is of Ordinance deleted, and the following definition is substituted there- No. 2 of for :-
1900, s
"Arms" includes--
(a) every firearm of any description : (b) every air gun, and every other kind of gun from which any shot, bullet or other missile can be discharged ;
(c) every sword, cutlass, spear, pike, bayo- net, dagger, fighting iron, or other deadly weapon; and
(d) every part of any such firearm, gun or
deadly weapon.

No. 6. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. EDWARD DUDLEY CORSCADEN WOLFE, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, to be a Member of the Legislative Council, with effect from the 11th December, 1918.

His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. ROBERT GORDON SHEWAN, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, to be an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council, vice the Honourable Mr. EDWARD SHELLIM, retired, with effect from the 1st January, 1919.

No. 8.-With reference to Government Notification No. 501 of the 20th December, 1918, it is hereby notified that His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has declared Mr. THOMAS FREDERICK HOUGH to be duly elected a Member of the Licensing Board for three years, with effect from the 28th December, 1918, in accordance with the Rules published in the Gazette of the 7th January, 1910.
