4. Paragraph (17) of section 16 of the principal Amendment Ordinance is amended by the insertion of the words of Ordinance

5. Section 19 of the principal Ordinance is amended Amendment as follows:

(a) by the insertion after the word "Surgeon" 1903, s. 19.

in the fourth line thereof of the words “and Assistant Colonial Veterinary Surgeons and meat and food inspectors";

(b) by the insertion of the following paragraph between the first and second paragraphs of the said section :---

The Governor may also appoint a Second Medical Officer of Health or a Deputy Medical Officer of Health, and thereafter all the provisions of this Ordi- nance and of any regulations made there- under relating to an Assistant Medical Officer of Health shall extend to and apply to such Second Medical Officer of Health or Deputy Medical Officer of Health in the same way and in all respects and for all purposes as if he had been appointed an Assistant Medical Officer of Health under this Ordinance.”

6. Section 70 of the principal Ordinance is amended Amendment by the repeal of the words "in any market," in the of Ordinance second line thereof.

7. The principal Ordinance is amended by the Insertion insertion of the following section immediately after

section 78:-

Sale of food in the Hill District.

----

78A.-(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 79, no person shall within the Hill District--

(a) keep any shop for the sale of any

article of food; or

(b) expose or offer with a view to sale any article of food; or (e) warehouse or store any article of

food intended for sale; or (d) knowingly permit any premises, owned or occupied by him, or otherwise under his management or control, to be used as a shop for the sale of any article of food or for the purpose of warehousing or storing any article of food intended for sale; or

(2) have in his possession or control any article of food with a view to the sale thereof or knowing that the same is intended for sale ;

except under a licence from the Board and in accordance with the terms of such licence.

It shall be lawful for the Board to pre- scribe in the case of any such licence any terms which may to the Board scem desi- rable.

(2) This section shall not apply to the following:--

(a) the sale of food by the keepers of hotels and boarding houses to guests and visitors;
