STRAITS SETTLEMENTS-PENANG HARBOUR-SOUTH CHANNEL.

Dredging Operations.

Position.-Lat. 5° 20′ N., long. 100° 21′ E. (approx.).

Date. From about the 8th November, 1940, until further notice.

Details.-The dredger "Kuautan" will be working along the meridian of

100° 21' E. between Lat. 5° 19′ N. and Lat. 5° 22' N.

She will exhibit the following signals:--

A

Black Ball at the yardarm on the side on which vessels may pass and a Red Flag at the yardarm on the side vessels may not pass.

Remarks.—The dredger will not work at night and will exhibit the lights pres- ·

cribed for a vessel at anchor.

Directions.—(1) Buoys and other marks have been placed in position but are not

to be used for navigation.

(2) Vessels must reduce speed when passing the dredger and her

attendant craft.

SINGAPORE - KEPPEL HARBOUR-OBSTRUCTIONS.

Navigable Channels-Amendments to.

Former Notice.-No. 186/1940 of the 12th September, 1940, hereby amended.

(1) "Details" amended as follows:

"A" One Black cylindrical buoy in position 162° distant 450 ft. from

the South Eastern corner of East Wharf, Tanjong Pagan. 'B" Three Black cylindrical buoys in position 236° distant 600 ft.

from position "A".

Note:--A Black cylindrical buoy will also be laid in position

085° distant 600 ft. from position "A".
