SPECIAL CONDITIONS TO SERIAL Nos. 10 AND 11.

1. The purchaser shall ensure that no land shall fall from the lot.

2. The purchaser shall pay the sum of $20.35 to the licensees of Forestry Lot No. 5 as compensation for pine trees growing on the lots.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS TO SERIAL Nos. 14 TO 16.

1. Half of the area shall be planted with fruit trees within 12 months, and the whole area shall be planted with fruit trees within 21 months, of the date of sale, to the satis- faction of the District Officer.

2. Trees shall be planted not more than ten feet apart.

3. The water channel running through the lot shall not be diverted or blocked without the written permission of the District Officer.

No. 8. 495.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Police Recreation Ground-Cutting Back Slopes ", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 28th day of October, 1940, for cutting back the slopes of the hillside north of the ground, removal of spoil, deposit of spoil on the ground, turfing, forming chunam hockey pitch, drianage, pitching and all necessary contingent works.

As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $1,000 with the

Accountant-General.

Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
