NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.

1. Light gun firing practice will be carried out between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. on 7th October, 1940.

Alternative date-8th October, 1940.

Firing Area "C", will be affected.

2. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 8th October, 1940:-

(a) Light gun firing practice between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Alternative date-10th October, 1940.

Firing Areas"D" and "E" will be affected.

(6) Anti-Aircraft practice in the Western Area of the Island between the

hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.

Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.

3. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 9th October, 1940:-

(a) Heavy gun firing practice between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Firing Area "B" will be affected.

(b) Anti-Aircraft practice in the Western Area of the Island between the

hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.

Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.

(c) Light gun firing practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00

midnight.

Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.

4. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 10th October, 1940:---

(a) Anti-Aircraft practice in the Western Area of the Island between the

hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.

Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.

(b) Light gun firing practice between the hours of 8.30 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. Alternative date-11th October, 1940.

Firing Area "C" will be affected.

5. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.
