No. S. 406.-It is hereby notified that the following Letting of Crown Land by Public Auction will be held at the District Office, Tai Po, at 11.30 a.m., on Tuesday, the 17th day of September, 1940.

The Lot is to be let for the term of ten years from the 1st day of July, 1940, as an Agricultural Lot subject to the conditions hereunder specified.

CONDITIONS.

1. The Permittee shall on the First day of July in each year pay to the Collector of Crown Rent for the New Territories an annual fee of $20 for the land occupied.

2. This permit may be cancelled at any time on the District Officer giving to the Permittee or leaving on the Land six calendar months' notice.

3. In the event of this permit being cancelled under condition 2 the Permittee shall not be entitled to any compensation unless the District Officer shall certify that compen- sation may be paid to him for improvements effected on the Land the amount of such compensation to be decided by the District Officer.

4. No buildings shall be erected on the land without the permission of the District Officer and the land shall be used only for garden or agricultural purposes.

5. The Permittee shall not mortgage the land and shall not sublet nor part with the possession of the same except with the consent of the District Officer.

6. If the Permittee commits a breach of any of the above conditions, this permit shall be deemed to be cancelled and the Government may immediately enter on the land and evict the Permittee and all other persons therefrom.

7. The Permittee shall pay the sum of $7.50 as compensation to the licensee of Forestry Lot 679 for pine trees growing on the Lot.

8. No cultivation will be allowed within 15 feet of the existing grave.

9. Reasonable facilities for access to the grave on the Lot shall be given at the Ching Ming and Chung Yeung Festivals to the persons entitled, in the opinion of the District Officer, to worship at the grave.
