Lights Extinguished.
The following Lights in the Gulf of Thailand and the West Coast of Malaya are reported as being extinguished :-
(a) Position.Lat. 12° 38′ N., long. 100° 52′ E. (approx.).
Light. -Goh Tan Taw.
(b) Position. - Lat. 6° 28′ N., long. 100° 04' E. (approx.).
Light.-Goh Yao.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.
No. S. 375.--It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tenders (A) Formation of an un-named 40'0" Street to the West of Grampian Road, and (B) Cutting back of Eastern Corner of the N.E. End of Argyle Street", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 19th day of August, 1940. For the cutting and forming of a 40′0′′ road to the West of Grampian Road and the cutting back of the N.E. Corner of Argyle Street, together with all contingent works.
As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $1,500 with the Accountant-General.
Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.
No work will be permitted on Sundays.
For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
