PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.

No. 8. 386.-—It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for a new underground Oil Store at North Point Govern- ment Stores", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 19th day of August, 1940. The work consists of the construction of an under- ground oil store in brick and cement concrete.

As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the sum of $500 with the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a Accountant-General which will be held as security for six months after completion of

works.

Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.

No work will be permitted on Sundays.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

BOTANICAL AND FORESTRY DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 387. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for making, clearing and repairing Forestry Paths and Fire Barriers, 1940-41", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 26th day of August, 1940, for making, clearing and repairing forestry paths and fire barriers for the Botanical and Forestry Department.

For forms of tender, specifications and further particulars apply at this Office.

No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited with the Accountant-General the sum of $50 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown if such person shall refuse to carry out his tender, should his tender be accepted.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
