N.B.-The safety or otherwise of these typhoon anchorages cannot be guaranteed with certainty. They must be judged by considering the proximity of known minefields, the possibility of the existence of floating mines, weather conditions, etc.
Consequent upon the Japanese Naval operations against NINGPO and WEN- CHOW, etc. begun on 16th July, 1940, the following Typhoon Anchorages are affected by the Proclamation of the Japanese Commander-in-Chief prohibiting the entrance of Third Power Ships to certain areas.
N.B.-These anchorages are in addition to those rendered dangerous by minefields
and quoted in Notice to Mariners No. 161/1940 of the 18th July, 1940.
