No. S. 331.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Waterworks Annual Contract", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 22nd day of July, 1940 for minor extensions and maintenance of Water Works in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories from 1st September, 1940 to 31st August, 1941. For the purpose of this Contract the Colony is divided into five Districts. Government reserves the right to accept a separate tender for each District or to accept one tender for a group of, or for all, Districts.
As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $500 with the Accountant-General for each District covered by the Contract.
Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.
No work will be permitted on Sundays.
For form of tender, specification, contract and further particulars apply at this Office.
The successful tenderer will be required to sign a contract in the form supplied to tenderers.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
The Government does not bind itself to place all work or any specific work required in the hands of the accepted contractor.

No. S. 332.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Annual Roads Contract", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 22nd day of July, 1940 for minor extensions, alterations, maintenance and repair of Roads, Streets, Bridges, Colonial Cemetery, Recreation Grounds, and relative works in the Colony of Hong Kong, Kowloon, New Kowloon and the New Territories from 1st September, 1940 to 31st August, 1941.
As security for the proper performance of the works under these contracts, the successful tenderers will be required to deposit, in cash, with the Accountant-General the sums of :-
$3,000 for Inside City District;
$2,000 for Outside City District;
$2,000 for Kowloon and New Kowloon Districts; $2,000 for New Territories District.
Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.
