No. S. 447. It is hereby notified, that separate tenders in triplicate, which should be sealed and clearly marked "Tender for the collection of Swill", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 25th September, 1939, for the collection of swill from the Hong Kong Prison, Stanley, for one year from 1st November, 1939.
No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited with the Accountant-General the sum of $10 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown if such person refuses to carry out his tender in the event of his tender being accepted. Deposits will be returned when the name of the successful tenderer is published.
For forms of tender and any other information apply at the Hong Kong Prison, Stanley.
No tender will be considered unless submitted in triplicate on the form provided.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.
The successful tenderer will be required to sign an agreement and to comply with any instructions given by the Commissioner of Prisons as to the method of collection. He will be called upon to give security to the satisfaction of the Government in the sum of $100.

No. S. 448.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the purchase of Waste Paper", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 25th day of September, 1939, for the purchase of Waste Paper from the Hong Kong Prison at Stanley for six months from 1st October, 1939.
No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited with the Accountant-General the sum of $25 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person shall refuse to carry out his tender, in the event of his tender being accepted. Deposits will be returned when the name of the successful tenderer is published.
Waste Paper consists of white paper cuttings (unprinted), coloured paper cuttings (unprinted) and waste paper, various, (i.e. printed matter, straw board cuttings, etc.), averaging monthly about 4,000 lbs., 2,000 lbs. and 1,000 lbs. respectively.
Samples of waste paper may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Hong Kong Prison, Stanley.
