(ii) the following sub-section is sub- stituted for sub-section (3)—
“(3) The Governor shall be deemed to have power to give directions for the sale or disposal of any property which at any time since the commenceinent of the war has been in the possession, custody or control of any alien enemy and which is not claimed by any person who is not an alien enemy."
(14) Section 17, as renumbered-sub-section (1) is amended by the repeal of the words and at all times to have had power in the third and fourth lines, and of the words
or was in the fourteenth line.

(15) Section 18, as renumbered, is further amended by the repeal of the words "and shall be deemed always to have passed in the second and third lines.
(16) Section 21, as renumbered-
"
(i) sub-section (2) is amended by the substitution of the figures "30" for "36" in the first line;
(ii) sub-section (4) is amended by the substitution of the words has not been
in the last line;
for "shall not have been"
(iii) sub-section (8) is amended by the substitution of the word "is" for shall be" in the second line.
(17) Section 24, as renumbered—
(i) the first paragraph is renumbered as sub-section (1), paragraph (d) as sub- section (2), and paragraphs (c) and (f) are repealed;
(ii) sub-section (1), as renumbered, is further amended-
(a) by the substitution of the words
There shall vest in the Custodian for all the words in the first two lines;

(b) by the substitution of the words commencement of the war for the words and figures—
4th day of August, 1914," in the second and third and the seventh lines of paragraph (a) and the fifth line of paragraph (b); and

5th day of August, 1914," in the
sixth line of paragraph («);
(c) by the repeal of the words and figures and had he continued to possess such rights up to the 30th day of March, 1917" at the end of para- graphs (b) and (c);
