AMENDMENT OR REPEAL.
55. The Trading with the Enemy Ordin-
ance, 1914. (No. 25 of 1914), -contd.
(b) the words "firm or company" in the fifth and sixth lines are repealed;
(iv) in sub-section (4)--
(a) the words "but for the existence of a state of war" are substituted for "had a state of war not existed" in the fourth line;
(b) all the words in the last three lines after the word "enemy" are repealed.
(15) Section
18-the words "or 2 judge thereof", "or the judge", and "or judge' in the first, tenth, fourteenth, fifteenth and the seventeenth and eighteenth lines are repealed.
(16) Section 19-in sub-section (6) the figures "18" are substituted for "10" in the last line.
(17) Section 21—(i) in sub-section (1)——
(a) the word "war" is substituted for "continuance of the present war" in the first line;
(b) the words "any person" are sub- stituted for "a person, firm or company in the eighth and ninth lines;
(c) the figures "9 (1)" are substituted for "6 (3)" in the tenth line;
(ii) the following sub-section is sub- stituted for sub-section (2)—
"(2) Where such a statutory declaration has been filed, it shall not be lawful for the company during the war, without the licence of the Governor, to acquire the whole or any part of any such under- taking, and if it does so every person who is a party to the default shall, without prejudice to any other liability, be liable upon summary conviction to a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars and to imprisonment for any term not exceeding six months.'
(18) Section 24-(i) the words and figures "section 18 or 20" are substituted for "section 10 or section 22" in the third line;
(ii) the words "or a judge thereof" in the last line are repealed.
(19) Section 25-the figures "16" and "17" are substituted for "8" and "9" in the fourth line.

(20) Section 26—(i) the words 'or proclama- tion" in the first and second lines extended by any subsequent enactment" in the fourth and fifth lines, and "con- tinuance of the present" in the fifth and sixth lines, are repealed;
(ii) the figures "17" are substituted for "9" in the fourth line.
