NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
1. Firing practice will be carried out from FORT DAVIS between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 2 p.m. on 24th July, 1939.
Alternative dates--26th and 27th July, 1939.
Firing Area "D" will be affected.
2. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing area affected, or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.

NOTICES TO MARINERS.
No. 94/1939.
On Friday, 28th July, 1939, between the hours of 0900 and 1200 gun firing will take place from H.M.S. Seamew in the neighbourhood of FUNG BAY (Latitude 22° 24' N., Longitude 114° 23' E.). A moored target will be placed to the north east of FUNG HEAD. One or more Motor Torpedo Boats will be used to ensure that the range is clear and act as safety and marking ships.
Shipping is warned to keep well clear of the range.

BLACKOUT ON THE 27TH JULY, 1939.
A practice blackout will be held on the evening of the 27th July, 1939.
The movement of all shipping will be reduced to a minimum and masters of all vessels are instructed to either "darken ship" after sunset on the evening of the 27th instant or make efficient arrangements whereby the vessel can be completely darkened within three minutes of the air raid warning syrens. All lights may be switched on as soon as the "raiders passed" signal has been sounded.
The cross harbour ferry services will cease running between the hours of 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on the night of the 27th instant and after 10 p.m. the ferry service may be resumed with all lights reduced to a minimum compatible with safety. This, however, does not apply to navigation lights which are to be displayed undimmed.
